Teen Dreams*: Ty Segall, White Fence, Strange Boys & The Men @ Webster Hall

teendreamsdrugsteendrugsteens:

So after work yesterday I video-chatted with my friend Erin, who is out in Chicago running a little label, and we had a Google+ Hangout drink together (it’s not drinking alone if the people you’re talking to on the internet are also drinking!!!). I had like, ya know, a fairrrllly large amount of…

Awesome review!  Wish I was there, but alas, I live across the country.

Ty Segall & White Fence – Time (20 plays)

Ty Segall & White Fence - “Time”

I am soooo fucking hungover at work right now and this song is the most soothing, musical equivalent of a bloody mary I have ever. This record is basically changing my life right now. I take back anything even vaguely insulting that I may or may not have said about it a few posts down.

This song is so good - much more White Fence than the other one.  I really need to order this record.

Ty Segall & White Fence – Crybaby (40 plays)

Ty Segall & White Fence - “Crybaby”

Well so you guys know Ty Segall and Tim Presley (White Fence) made a record together called Hair that’s coming out on Drag City pretty soon. The record is super enjoyable. I don’t know I feel like it’s straight up revival stuff. If you love late 60s psychedelic rock, frat-rock and glam then you have basically already heard this record and you love it.It’s really easy to tell which songs were written by Tim Presley and which ones were written by Ty. The ones that sound like Jefferson Airplane? Tim Presley. The ones that sound like T.Rex, or in the case of “Crybaby,” the one that sounds like Thee Headcoates? Ty Segall. I like it and I think it’s well done but I also almost feel like something is missing. And I don’t want to be dramatic and say TY AND TIM are missing but that’s almost what it feels like. Anyway, I get overeager and post reviews of records when I’ve only listened through once or twice which is not a good thing to do, so I’ll keep listening and see what I think in a week. At any rate, it does make me want to get really stoned.

I also just broke out in hives so that might be effecting my mood.

UPDATE: I still have hives but I fucking adore this record.
